Breaking Bad is Back! (sort of)

This is why Award shows are truly worth all the time and effort. In promotion of the upcoming Emmys, the organisers have pulled a blinder by bringing together Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul to play Pawn shop owners in a comedy sketch that has Julia Louis-Dreyfus trying to hock her Emmy for Seinfeld.

“We’re not licensed, and they can be mighty stinky!”

I love comedy Cranston. It’s easy to forget after 5 gruelling seasons of Breaking Bad that he has some of the best comedy chops in the business. And with all the in-joke humour (the mutual ‘supporting actor’ respect, the Los Pollos Hermanos easter egg, and of course the puppy dog twist) it’s sure to become a viral sensation with the still enormous (and growing) Breaking Bad fan legions.

I’m still not going to make any effort to watch the Emmys. But I love this!

James is a movie obsessive with a particular love for scores and screenplays. He has written for numerous blogs, sites and cinemas and has been involved in several screenwriting projects. He can usually be found in front of a large plasma screen devouring Westerns, 80s pulp, Jimmy Stewart movies or anything by the Coens.
