The Cultoid Podcast #3 – Ben Wheatley Q&A

For our third podcast we’ve done something a bit different, owing to the fact that last night we were given the opportunity to attend an event that was itself a bit different.

We attended an advance screening of High Rise, the new film from Ben Wheatley (which incidentally you should all go and see when it is released on 18th March), and afterward the director himself was in attendance to answer any questions his adoring audience wanted to know of him.

The greatest thing about Mr Wheatley is how damn normal he is. He’s just like you and me and so to hear him talk about his process, and the fact that he has always done things his way; no notes and no meddling executives to answer to, is a joy.

If you’re a budding filmmaker or just a fan of cinema, this is worth a listen. Oh and also keep your ears peeled for an exceptionally wise and hilarious observation on the general misery of The Revenant.
