Dark City Gallery – Print Greatness

There aren’t many better feelings than finding the perfect piece of movie related artwork to adorn your cinema room walls and turning your geek friends green with envy. And in the last few years there has been an explosion of artists hitting the scene, having a crack at some of their favourite films and often creating pieces that easily outdo the film’s own promo art.

So with loads of stuff out there waiting to be found you need some well curated galleries to bring the very best work to the fore. One such place is Dark City Gallery in Leeds.

I met the guys from Dark City at the 2014 Thought Bubble convention (also in Leeds) and was drawn to them, like a steaming apple pie on a window ledge draws a cartoon dog. I was even fortunate enough to pick up a fantastic King Kong print by La Boca, which will soon be taking pride of place in my house. The body of work they have available, from a raft of diverse artists is really impressive. But enough of my yakking, go take a look at their sit right here. Or look below for some more examples of the art they carry.

James is a movie obsessive with a particular love for scores and screenplays. He has written for numerous blogs, sites and cinemas and has been involved in several screenwriting projects. He can usually be found in front of a large plasma screen devouring Westerns, 80s pulp, Jimmy Stewart movies or anything by the Coens.
