Scorpion Child Kings Highway Video

child2Happy Saturday morning folks. We have an exciting new visual treat from a director whom we featured on the site a few months ago. The animator/filmmaker in question is Jess Cope, who alongside various film and TV projects has been making a name for herself in the world of music videos.

Having already made a string of videos for Steven Wilson (Ex Porcupine Tree) and Storm Corrosion, Jess’ latest project saw her create a dreamy and ethereal vision for new Austin based band Scorpion Child. Take a look at the clips below, the first being an introduction from the legendary Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy, followed by the video itself.

I have to come clean (and those of you who watched the video will have already seen why), and say that I am slightly biased in promoting this video as the treatment was written by myself and fellow Cultoid editor James Weller, along with Tom Kaye. But hey why not?!

Let us know what you think of the song/video/anything else you want to say in the comments below.

James is a movie obsessive with a particular love for scores and screenplays. He has written for numerous blogs, sites and cinemas and has been involved in several screenwriting projects. He can usually be found in front of a large plasma screen devouring Westerns, 80s pulp, Jimmy Stewart movies or anything by the Coens.
